Do I need an international driving license to rent a motorbike in Phu Quoc?
Technically, Vietnamese law requires an international driving permit (IDP) for foreigners. In practice, police rarely check tourists on Phu Quoc. However, we recommend getting an IDP before your trip for insurance purposes. If you are stopped, fines are typically 100,000-200,000 VND ($4-8).
What happens if the motorbike breaks down?
Call our 24/7 support line. For minor issues (flat tire, dead battery), we send a mechanic to your location within 30-60 minutes. For major breakdowns, we deliver a replacement bike to you at no extra charge. You are not responsible for mechanical failures that are not caused by accidents.
Do you require a passport deposit?
No. We never hold your passport. We only ask for a photo or photocopy of your passport for our records. Some shops on the island still demand to keep your passport — we strongly advise against leaving your passport with anyone.
Can you deliver a motorbike to my hotel at night?
Yes. We offer delivery until 10 PM as standard service. For late-night arrivals (flights landing after 10 PM), we can arrange delivery to your hotel — just let us know your flight details in advance. There is no extra charge for evening deliveries.
How do villa bookings work? Is it safe to book directly?
We act as a local booking agent for villa owners we personally know and trust. You communicate with us throughout the process, and we handle check-in, key exchange, and any issues during your stay. Payment is typically 30% deposit via bank transfer, with the remainder on arrival. Every villa is inspected by our team before we list it.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (VND or USD), bank transfer (Vietnamese banks), Wise transfer, and for villa bookings, we can also accept PayPal. Credit card payment is available for car rentals and tours with a small processing fee (3%).
Is Phu Quoc safe for solo travelers and families?
Phu Quoc is one of the safest destinations in Southeast Asia. Violent crime is extremely rare. The main risks are traffic accidents (always wear a helmet), petty theft at crowded beaches, and sunburn. Families with children will find the island very welcoming, with calm beaches and family-friendly restaurants everywhere.
